About the job As a Cloud Deployment DevOps Engineer, you will be part of the SAS Software-as-a-Service team at the forefront of building the foundation and platform that supports SAS's future cloud offerings. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for the development and deployment of our SAS Viya Workbench product. You will be a part of an innovative, cohesive team of engineers that is developing and deploying the most exciting new product at SAS. The role involves software development, automation development, and executing deployment technologies for multiple cloud providers and is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the future of SAS.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will: - Scope product requirements, estimate effort, and help plan release schedules.
- Design and develop product and deployment features to provide high quality testable and scalable software solutions.
- Contribute to the conception of, design, and implementation of a world class approach to automation and deployment of this SaaS Product.
- Participate in and lead sprint goals as part of a collaborative Agile/Scrum team.
- Evolve software architecture to meet changes in product requirements.
- Participate in all stages of the continuous development lifecycle - including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Ensure quality by creating and maintaining unit tests.
- Provide support of the product to internal customers.
- Collaborate with team members to implement innovative approaches to real world problems.
- Collaborate with technical writers to share information with end users in the form of product documentation, videos, and/or white papers.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience working on large complex software products as a developer.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing applications and infrastructure on either the AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, to manage and automate cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with LINUX and/or UNIX operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD and associated tools like Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, GitHub workflows and Linux commands
Preferred qualifications - Proficiency in Go, Python or Bicep
