Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing a diverse array of research and development initiatives in advanced engineering and manufacturing. You'll collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to lead pioneering work in areas such as battery innovation, AI/ML-driven process optimization, semiconductor development, and quantum technologies. You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, setting strategic direction, and guiding interdisciplinary teams through the entire research lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently lead complex R&D projects, applying deep scientific and engineering expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Mentor junior researchers, helping them grow both technically and professionally.
- Initiate and guide new research directions, functioning as a recognized authority in your field.
- Diagnose technical challenges in multi-disciplinary contexts and design effective experimental and development strategies.
- Collaborate across teams and departments to execute high-impact research projects aligned with broader business objectives.
Work Expectations:
- Work primarily on-site at our Raymond, OH facility for at least four days each week.
Required Background & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in applied research or advanced development.
- Proven track record in semiconductor manufacturing and device validation.
- Strong ability to design, test, and optimize complex systems using simulation tools and advanced modeling techniques.
- Skilled in managing project timelines, partner relationships, budgets, and deliverables.
- Effective leadership and communication capabilities to align research with strategic goals and clearly articulate findings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with microfabrication techniques and chip packaging.
- Knowledge of integrated circuit designs and system architecture.
- Experience in building and applying AI/ML solutions to engineering problems.
- Familiarity with quantum simulation platforms and quantum algorithm development.
