SALARY: $59,000 - $64,000

ABOUT US:
Beacon Hill (BH) is a non-profit organization committed to providing equity in education through sustainable supplemental tutoring in Reading, Math, and Academic Enrichments. We strive to make a lasting impact on our community by target instruction during in-school, after-school and summer programs. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Development Manager to guide our fundraising efforts and help us achieve our mission.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization's fundraising strategy. This includes identifying and cultivating donor relationships, securing funding through grants, managing fundraising events, and enhancing visibility within the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit development, excellent communication skills, and a passion for our mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy & Stewardship plan that aligns with the organization's goals and mission, including individual donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, and special events.
- Grant Management: Research, write, and submit grant proposals to local, state, and federal funding agencies. Prepare and provide necessary documentation and reports for grant compliance.
- Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors, while actively seeking new sources of funding. Develop donor recognition initiatives, cultivation plan and ensure timely communication and engagement.
- Events Management: Plan and execute fundraising events, including campaigns, galas, and community outreach initiatives. Work closely with volunteers and staff to ensure successful events.
- Database Management: Oversee donor database management, ensuring accurate record-keeping, reporting, and analysis of fundraising efforts, donor histories, and fundraising performance metrics.
- Marketing and Communications: Strategize with the marketing team to develop engaging materials and Marketing plans that communicate the organization's mission, impact, and fundraising initiatives.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to align fundraising activities with programmatic goals. Provide support and guidance to the board and volunteer committees involved in fundraising.
- Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the development budget, ensuring financial goals are met.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the Development and Marketing team, including but not limited to: a Marketing/Content Creator, Development Coordinator, and Special Event Contractors, and other positions needed at the approval of the President/CEO and Board of Directors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, communications, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in development or fundraising within a non-profit organization.
- Proven track record of successful grant writing and donor cultivation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse audience.
- Familiarity with fundraising databases and donor management software (e.g., Bloomerang, Grant Hub, Asana, Memory Fox, Canva, Website platforms, Microsoft packages etc.).
