Development & Events Manage

Join a long-standing, mission-driven nonprofit in South Florida. This organization is seeking a highly organized and relationship-driven Development & Events Manager to lead its fundraising efforts, cultivate community partnerships, and manage a robust calendar of events that engage donors, stakeholders, and the broader Miami-Dade community.
Position Summary
The Development & Events Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and growing high-impact fundraising and community events, as well as building and maintaining relationships with local donors, sponsors, and community partners. This is a visible role requiring strong community presence and the ability to drive engagement through events, communications, and donor cultivation in local markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Strategy & Execution
- Own the full lifecycle of all fundraising and community events-from concept and planning to execution and post-event reporting.
- Manage all logistics including vendor contracts, budgets, permits, timelines, and volunteer coordination.
- Build event sponsorship decks and secure in-kind and financial support from local businesses and community partners.
- Lead on-site event execution, including team management and troubleshooting.
Donor and Community Engagement
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with a broad base of supporters-individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and civic leaders.
- Represent the organization at local events and networking functions to strengthen community visibility.
- Identify new community engagement opportunities within Miami-Dade and surrounding areas.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop event-related collateral, invitations, and post-event reports in coordination with marketing.
- Partner with internal staff and consultants to promote events via email, social media, and press outreach.
- Maintain brand consistency across all community-facing content.
Development Strategy
- Support the VP of Operations & Development in implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Track donor and sponsor engagement, ensuring timely follow-up and recognition.
- Maintain donor and event records using CRM and project management tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; CFRE or event planning certification a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years in nonprofit development with a heavy focus on event management.
- Strong ties to or understanding of the South Florida community (Miami-Dade preferred).
- Proven success planning and executing fundraising events of varying scale.
- Excellent relationship-building and public-facing communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and platforms such as Constant Contact and Canva; familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect) a plus.
- High energy, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Able to work evenings/weekends for events as needed.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check.
