Description JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Development, Agency, and Government Relations. The Development Coordinator works directly with the Director of Development, Corporate and Government Relations in support of all aspects of giving to include fundraising, direct mail, donor databases: gift processing, special events, donor recognition and stewardship, marketing, corporate and government support. Responsible for assisting with completing and submitting grant applications for a wide variety of Richland County Recreation Commission and Richland County Recreation Foundation projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Works with the DDCGR to develop, market and implement fundraisers.
- Create and develop marketing material and ideas for Foundation.
- Maintain/update donor database; make follow up calls to prospective donors.
- Assist with planning and executing fundraising initiatives, including donor outreach, sponsorships, grants, and recognition efforts to support the agency's mission.
- Complete grant applications as assigned by DDCGR in accordance with grantor standards or requirements in allotted time frame.
- Update social networking sites with current and upcoming information.
- Create a monthly newsletter.
- Assist with light administrative duties as needed.
- Organizes and manages projects.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, public relations, or another related field.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in market research, development and promotion of services, programs, or organizations.
- Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills. and abilities to perform this job.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience in using computers and software applications to manage donors contact information and communication resources
- Knowledge of government regulations pertaining to fundraising.
- Knowledge of community needs and initiatives.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and cash management procedures.
- Skill in resolving conflicts.
- Skill in organization, management, and administration.
- Skill in communicating, both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office software and graphic design software (i.e. Adobe or Canva Design Suites).
- Ability to garner support from donors, sponsors, committee members, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to function as a team member within department and entire agency.
- Ability to manage projects.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- You must possess a valid Driver's License to drive an RCRC vehicle and produce an acceptable 10-year driving record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light work and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects; work may also require manual dexterity, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, distinguishing among sounds, mental acuity, reaching, speaking, talking, visual acuity for color, and walking.
