Make a Difference Every Day

Are you highly organized, mission-driven, and ready to jumpstart or grow a meaningful career in nonprofit development? The SEED School of Maryland is looking for a Development Coordinator who's hungry to learn, eager to contribute, and passionate about making an impact. This isn't just another admin role-it's a chance to be part of a powerful movement that transforms lives through education.

We're looking for a dynamic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a stickler for detail, loves communicating with people, and knows how to manage up and stay laser-focused. If you're excited about building something that matters-and sticking around to see it grow-this job is for you.

About SEED Maryland

The SEED School of Maryland is the state's only public, college-prep boarding school-serving 400 incredible students from communities across Maryland. As part of the national SEED network, we provide a life-changing opportunity for students to receive a tuition-free, college-prep education in a 24/7 supportive learning environment.

We're not just a school-we're a launching pad. Our students commit to a seven-year journey of academics, life skills, mentorship, and enrichment. We believe every student can succeed in college and beyond when given the right supports. And your work will help make that possible.

What You'll Do

You'll be the backbone of a small but mighty development team. From managing donor records to supporting events to keeping communications running smoothly, your fingerprints will be on everything that moves this mission forward.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Process all gifts and donations, ensuring accurate and timely acknowledgments (within 24-48 hours)
  • Maintain accurate records in our donor database (Raiser's Edge) and email platform (Mailchimp)
  • Generate regular fundraising and donor reports; support data-driven decision-making
  • Support donor stewardship, including research, and prep for tours/events
  • Help execute fundraising campaigns (print and digital), including appeals and presentations
  • Coordinate logistics for events and donor meetings: RSVPs, signage, registration, materials, cost tracking, and follow-up
  • Serve as a liaison between student ambassadors and the Development Director for tours and events
  • Draft web updates related to fundraising and school impact
  • Support grassroots giving campaigns, donor engagement efforts, and other initiatives as assigned

What Success Looks Like

  • You maintain an airtight donor database and keep our systems running like clockwork
  • You communicate clearly, kindly, and professionally with donors and colleagues
  • You anticipate needs, take initiative, and thrive in an environment where every day is different
  • You feel deeply connected to SEED's mission and want to grow with us over the long haul

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or associate's degree with 3+ years relevant nonprofit experience)
  • 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, communications, or nonprofit operations preferred
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new platforms
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge and Mailchimp a plus
  • A sense of humor, positive attitude, and deep respect for young people

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Mission-driven work that matters
  • Incredible students and stories that inspire
  • Tight-knit team with room to grow
  • A culture that values impact, integrity, and initiative
