Position Summary

University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

As a vital part of the Schools & Institutes fundraising team, this position will support the implementation of effective strategies to build and manage fundraisers' discovery and prospect pools, prioritize approaches, steward prospects, and help identify and execute engagement opportunities to attract major gifts. Provide primary support to the Lead School Fundraiser (LSF) for School of Professional Studies. The Development Associate may be asked to help LSFs from other schools from time to time. Responsibilities will include collaborating and coordinating with the Prospect Development and Research teams to identify prospective donors; drive the implementation of donor strategies set by the School of Professional Studies LSF and possibly other LSFs if needed; ensure proper acknowledgement for gifts and pledges related to the LSF's portfolio; and provide follow-up correspondence and communication with prospects and donors, as appropriate.

Call high capacity prospects and donors to arrange meetings for the LSF and assist with required follow-up. Review and drive the implementation of donor cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual prospects, and identify and suggest ways to best target different segments of prospective donors and alumni to engage them in order to increase giving to each donor/prospect's capacity. Plan and draft correspondence and proposals for prospects and current donors; draft gift agreements; and manage and help implement the stewardship process for the LSF's donors who have made gifts for scholarships, fellowships, program support and professorships. Assist with development and implementation of programs and engagement opportunities directly related to raising funds, potentially to include assisting with Dean's Council meetings, committee meetings, receptions, and presidential dinners.

UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
