Description

The Development Associate is responsible for supporting fundraising operations and providing administrative support to the Development Team. The Development Associate will participate in fundraising activities including donor relations, in-kind donations, and special events.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages in-kind gifts, including coordinating community call to action, collaboration with Services teams, annual tracking of in-kind monetary value, storage, and using volunteers.
  • Ensure all In-Kind Donation Logs from all sites are entered into Salesforce.
  • Assists with mailing and printing of donor correspondence.
  • Communicate with donors for specific fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Coordinates and attends speaking engagements and third-party events on behalf of ForKids and represents the organization at community meetings.
  • Communicate with donors and convey a positive and professional image, especially in high- pressure situations, and demonstrate the highest level of personal and ethical standards.
  • Works closely with volunteers through Development events and projects
  • Provides front desk coverage for the Receptionist as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Customer Service:
  • Provides service to internal and external customers according to standards as outlined in ForKids Customer CARE Manual.
Financial Management:
  • Use agency resources (financial and non-financial) prudently.
  • Acknowledges and follows the financial policies of the agency.
Grants Data Management:
  • Accurately completes all required data reporting in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Participate in all scheduled data collection training.
Community Engagement:
  • Participate in development and fundraising activities as needed and requested (ex: meeting with donors, providing tours, attending fundraising events).
  • Regularly engage, support and collaborate with volunteers to provide a meaningful experience
Qualifications

Essential Functions, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals are essential.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to regularly set and achieve work goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Effective time management skills, uses logic and resources to solve problems.
  • Valid driver's license with no more than three minor driving violations and/or accidents combined within the last three years, and no major moving violations in the past five years.
