Position Summary:The Developer for What's Next Innovation (WNI) is engaged in two key areas: developing software tools from the ground up for both internal and external applications, and creating solutions to automate tedious workflows, enhance employee productivity, and improve the quality of client reports. This position is integral to our service-oriented strategy, combining software engineering, UI/UX design, and direct interactions with users and stakeholders to ensure our tools and solutions effectively meet their diverse needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Translate business problems into actionable application designs
- Produce clean, consistent, logical code based on designs; submit to Gitlab repository.
- Communicate workflows to other developers and present them.
- Debug coding errors.
- Refactor existing functions and paradigms.
- Foster positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Complete other tasks or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Experience in Python, Django, JavaScript, or related programming languages; experience with version control frameworks (GitHub, GitLab, etc.); experience with pandas, numpy, or other data science frameworks; experience with bootstrap, react, or other front-end frameworks; experience in SQL, Postgres, or Mongo DB architecture; strength in using general Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Possess strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy and completeness, and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
- Ability to self-educate on new development practices.
- Solid organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to translate technical information/program designs to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, such as leadership, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Sense of urgency and bias toward action.
- Prior exposure to real estate, finance, valuation, or accounting industries is a plus.
- Ability and openness to continuous learning on a diverse range of subjects relating to our industry.
- Have a strong understanding and knowledge of database management systems including data structures, efficient database design, and queries.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of directly related programming experience and/or appropriate balance of education and work experience. At least 2-4 years of Python development. 1-2 years of Web Development (Django, Flask, Ruby-on-Rails, etc.). 2-4 years of JavaScript/React development.
