Job Title Developer Analyst, Enterprise Applications
SummaryThe Developer Analyst is an essential contributor to the University's Enterprise Applications team, primarily supporting and enhancing the University's ERP system and associated integrations. This role collaborates with departments and functional users to optimize business processes, adhering to industry best practices and supporting seamless data-driven decision-making. The Developer Analyst is responsible for the entire software development lifecycle-from analysis and development to testing, implementation, and continuous improvement-while ensuring system stability, security, and integrity. This role works closely with IT team members, University departments, and external resources, leveraging technical expertise to support University goals effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities - Act as the primary support Enterprise Applications across Financial Aid, Finance, Human Resources, and other departments, maximizing its utility and efficiency.
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between the University systems, data repositories, and third-party solutions, aligning with best practices and both short- and long-term strategic goals.
- Create and support tactical and strategic reports using appropriate reporting tools, meeting individual and institutional requirements for data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with University business offices to analyze existing processes, recommending and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency across the Enterprise Applications environment.
- Enable self-service functionalities for University departments to enhance day-to-day operational independence, reducing reliance on IT resources.
- Ensure the stability, integrity, and security of University data and services, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and industry regulations, including FERPA and other relevant data governance standards.
- Develop and maintain user-friendly documentation for end-users on enterprise processes, integrations, and self-service tools.
- Provide targeted end-user training for business office personnel and other stakeholders, fostering expertise and confidence in the University's data and processes.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for routine tasks, improving efficiency across IT Services and other University functions.
- Collaborate with functional staff, University management, and other departments to provide responsive, day-to-day production support and effective problem resolution.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to assess and enhance the ERP environment, aligning with evolving institutional needs and technological advancements.
- Engage in peer collaboration and knowledge sharing to build team capacity and expertise in Banner support, integrations, and reporting practices.
- Regularly monitor the performance of the University's ERP and other enterprise applications, implementing optimizations and adjustments to ensure peak efficiency.
- Take ownership of assigned project tasks, utilizing project management best practices to deliver timely and effective outcomes.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or in lieu of degree, 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting and developing within an institutional ERP environment, including system customizations and optimizations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in database technologies and development, including system customizations and optimizations.
- Proven ability to design and develop enterprise-level reports that meet both tactical and strategic goals.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated adaptability to evolving technologies and a commitment to professional growth.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.

Preferred Qualifications - Higher Education experience working in an ERP environment, especially within an IT or Enterprise Applications role.
- Advanced technical certifications in Banner (Ellucian Certified Banner Professional), Oracle, or SQL.
- Proficiency with non-Oracle SQL dialects, such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience creating and maintaining reports in eVisions Argos and Tableau.
- Familiarity with the EAB Edify Platform.
- Experience developing applications in UNIX/Linux environments, including shell scripting.
- Proficiency with data integration technologies (e.g., Web Services, REST, XML, JSON) for system interoperability.
- Knowledge of web application development, including Python, PHP, JavaScript, and AJAX.
- Familiarity with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure) or cloud-based ERP environments.
- Knowledge of information security principles or certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) relevant to higher education data management.
- Experience with structured change management processes to support updates and transitions with campus-wide impact.
Normal Work Location, Hours and ConditionsThis position works in person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. However, this position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on department operations and project schedules.
Physical RequirementsPrimary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Compensation & BenefitsStarting salary will be $72,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position offers a generous Total Rewards package that includes health and dental insurance options, paid vacation, personal, sick, and mission time, holidays, 403 (b) retirement plan, life insurance, and tuition remission benefits for you, your spouse, and children.
