Your Mission As a DevOps Software Engineer III, you will design, develop, and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability. You will work with system engineers and developers to automate processes, enhance system performance, and streamline deployments. Your expertise in DevOps tools, infrastructure automation, and software engineering will support the continuous integration and delivery of mission-critical applications. You Will Excel in This Role If You Are: Skilled in software engineering and DevOps methodologies
Experienced in automating processes and infrastructure using scripting and orchestration tools
Comfortable working in Linux environments and developing solutions for HPC systems
Proficient in troubleshooting and optimizing system performance
Adept at working with large-scale data monitoring and log management tools
Passionate about improving reliability, scalability, and efficiency through automation A Day in the Life: Develop and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems
Automate infrastructure and software deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
Utilize Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, and analyzing big data
Implement and manage log management tools like Syslog-ng and rsyslog
Develop Bash scripts and Python applications to enhance system automation
Work with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI for continuous integration and delivery
Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and DevOps teams to optimize system performance
Manage source control using Git and support best practices for software development workflows Must Have: TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
Master's degree in related discipline, plus five (5) years of related experience. OR Bachelor's degree in related discipline, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, OR Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE without a degree will be considered.
Experience using the Linux CLI
Proficiency in developing Bash scripts for process automation
Recent software development experience using Python
Experience with Splunk for big data monitoring and analysis
Knowledge of log management tools such as Syslog-ng and rsyslog
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation tools like Ansible
Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools, including GitLab CI
Proficiency in Git Source Control System Nice to Have: Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
