Position Overview
This is a full-time unclassified and non-exempt position that serves at the pleasure of the Judge, working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Desktop Support Specialist reports to the Court Administrator and is responsible for providing technical assistance to computer end users within the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, Probate Division.
Summary of Job Duties
Responds to inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operations to resolve user problems.
Configures and deploys computer hardware, mobile devices, and software for employees by performing and ensuring the proper installation of cables, peripheral devices, operating systems, and appropriate software.
Receives service desk calls and tickets, responds to and resolves them in a fixed timeframe, keeps users and interested parties informed, and manages a library of knowledge based on service desk activity.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders for network, database, and phone assistance.
Advises users about and performs maintenance of hardware and software systems, train users in proper use of computer software solutions and hardware.
Completes minor repairs to computer hardware and peripheral equipment using accepted design or installation specifications; refers to major hardware problems or product defects to vendors for service or technical support.
Manages computer hardware and peripheral equipment, inventory records and destruction.
Ensures that all work is carried out in a timely manner and documented in accordance with the required standards, methods, and procedures.
Communicates and collaborates with diverse individuals from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Ability to work with the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Associate's degree in a technology related field.

Two (2) years of experience performing similar duties.

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.
Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
