Summary of Basic Function:

The Desktop Support Intern assists with tier-one support and maintenance of computer equipment, audio visual equipment, phones, and end user technical support at Brentwood Bank.

Candidate will partner with Desktop Administration for answering and fielding calls, resolving tickets related to: hardware and application issues, new workstations/laptops builds and configuration, printer setup and configuration, automated software distribution, conference rooms technology support, employee onboarding and offboarding requests, and end user support.

Candidate will adhere to desktop policies, procedures, and standards aligning to the Brentwood Bank and industry best practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and address internal tickets supporting Brentwood Bank employees.
  • Manage user expectations and provide timely and effective communication.
  • Gain understanding with Computer Lifecycle Management:
    • Workstations/laptops build and configuration.
    • Coordinate with end-users and the Desktop Administration team to provide customer focused desktop support practices.
    • Assist the Inventory Management Team with the documentation process and end-user signoff.
    • Ensure company assets adhere to Information Security Policy requirements.
  • Gain understanding of enterprise compliance; with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Partner with IT team and end users for troubleshooting and effective IT Service Management
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:
  • Purist of an associate degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field required.
  • Basic understanding of Computer Hardware, Windows OS/MacOS.
  • Basic understanding of the Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Basic understanding of Service Desk Platforms/Ticketing Systems.
  • Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Physical Requirements: ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, prolonged frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects, ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, must be able to communicate verbally and listen carefully through a telephone system; occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, frequent lifting of 1-10lbs, minimal lifting of up to 70lbs, ability to see and read fine print, must be able to distinguish and count currency.
