Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer role for a Contract job with a client in Washington Mills, NY(Hybrid) . The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of PC hardware, software, and operating systems to provide seamless technical assistance.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Desktop Support Engineer job responsibilities include:
  • Providing comprehensive support for PC hardware, software, operating systems, directory services, and applications.
  • Managing desktop/laptop installations, upgrades, and configurations to meet user requirements.
  • Supporting printer setups, network configuration, and driver installations.
  • Coordinating with vendors and external teams for hardware support and issue resolution.
  • Offering remote and onsite technical assistance to end users, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Managing and prioritizing service desk tickets, ensuring resolution within service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Developing and maintaining configuration documentation, standard procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Supporting disaster recovery efforts and providing IT support for onsite/offsite events and meetings.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in desktop support or a related technical support role.
  • Strong experience with troubleshooting and supporting Windows 10/11, MacOS, and Android operating systems.
  • Proficient in managing Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies, and familiarity with networking and firewall configurations.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $49.00 per hour
