Bachelor Degree: (Required, Preferred or Not Required)Role Responsibilities: (what they will be doing) - The DesignOps Specialist is responsible for implementing documentation, communication, and collaboration workflows for the Consumer and Small Business Experience Design organization. This role ensures optimal efficiency across processes and systems, enabling the design and research teams to deliver impactful user experiences for clients, prospects, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain DesignOps processes and workflows. E.g., standard operating procedures for hiring and onboarding new teammates, record-keeping processes, etc.
- Curate and maintain the DesignOps knowledge repository in Microsoft Loop to ensure consistency, maximize shareability, and prevent data loss due to retention policies.
- Proactively manage the communication within the design community.
- Coordinate announcements, events, emergencies, and tool updates through newsletters and Microsoft Teams.
- Support the creation of design events and peer-to-peer communities.
- Drive initiatives aimed at cross-pollinating design best practices across the team, fostering an environment that encourages participation and knowledge sharing.
- Assist in the organization and logistics of team activities. Coordinate events such as all-hands meetings (Inspire & Build), design reviews (Design Stories), and business reviews (EBR), employing project management tools to streamline planning and execution.
- Execute DesignOps activities to enhance collaboration and productivity across the design team. Onboard external design and development teams, equipping them with the design system, brand guidelines, and accessibility standards, including the development of comprehensive onboarding materials.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment, actively mentoring and guiding junior team members to support their professional growth and development.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing software licenses for design tools.
- Manage user access requests for specific design tools that require manual provisioning (e.g., Adobe, Axure, Airtable), complementing the standard IAM process
Must Have Skills/Prior Experiences: (Vendor should not submit any candidate that does not have these skills/prior experience.) Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in User Experience, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, Service Design, Communication Design, Computer Science, Psychology, HCI, Human Factors, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in operations or creative project management.
- Demonstrated experience in defining and managing workflows, ensuring efficient processes, and timely delivery.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions to enhance team productivity.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and various software tools (experience with Figma, Airtable, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Loop).
- Possess an understanding of the intersection of technology and human behavior.
Plus/Nice to Have Skills/Prior Experiences:(Hiring Manager DOES NOT require these skills/ prior experience. However candidates with any of these will be looked at first.) Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Design Principles and Methodologies: Understanding of user-centered design processes, UX/UI standards, and the ability to apply design thinking to operational challenges.
- Proficiency in Agile and Lean methodologies, with relevant certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Lean Six Sigma, and experience with project management software like Jira.
- Familiarity with Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and experience ensuring design outputs meet accessibility requirements.
- Banking or financial services experience.
