Job Title: Design Engineering Team Leader

A Snapshot of Your Day:

As a Cubicle Design Engineering Team Leader in Grid Technologies, your day will begin with a team briefing to review ongoing projects and set priorities. You will spend time coordinating with various departments, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.

A significant part of your day will involve mentoring and guiding your team of engineers, providing technical expertise, and fostering a collaborative environment. You will also engage in strategic planning sessions, aligning design initiatives with the company's long-term goals. Regularly, you will review design proposals, conduct performance evaluations, and meet with clients to discuss project requirements and progress.

  • Leadership: You will lead and inspire a team of talented cubicle design engineers, driving innovation and excellence in grid technology projects.
  • Strategic Vision: By aligning design projects with the company's strategic objectives, you will contribute to the development of advanced, sustainable grid solutions.
  • Quality and Efficiency: Your oversight will ensure that all design processes are efficient, cost-effective, and adhere to the highest quality standards.
  • Client Relations: You will play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Continuous Improvement: You will implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the team's performance and project outcomes.

What You Bring:

  • Educational Background: ONC/HNC Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in design engineering, with a proven track record of managing engineering teams and projects, preferably within the grid technologies or power systems sector.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Engineering Base, or similar) and a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Innovation: A passion for innovation and a commitment to staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
