Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $80-100K
Job Summary of the Design Engineer: The Design Engineer will develop creative, innovative, and groundbreaking designs to satisfy customer needs. Will be responsible for the design of multiple projects, focusing on the early phase developmental projects utilizing conceptualization and alternative evaluation processes. This Design Engineer will focus on engineering projects, facilitating the design through product integration, supporting the building of prototypes, initial testing, performing worst-case analysis, and eventual hand off to manufacturing operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:
Manage 3 7 projects in varying stages of development.
Use designated computer-assisted design software to develop designs.
Problem-solve and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
Maintain compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and external requirements or specifications when designing products.
Manage technical development activities, including scheduling and resolution of engineering design and test problems.
Prepare interim and completion project reports, drawings, or models.
Complete documentation of the design and development process of products for ISO Quality compliance.
Review drawings, designs, reports, and technical data for accuracy and completeness.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Design Engineer:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in design engineering, including the development of new products.
Previous experience in the design and manufacture of motion applications is strongly desired.
Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills are required.
Proficient with experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with a manufacturing ERP system.
The ability to work under time and budgetary pressures is also necessary.
Any electrical experience or electrical schooling is a plus.
