Deposit Operations Funds Specialist 1 Job Summary

The Deposit Operations Funds Specialist 1 is responsible for performing operational and administrative functions to support the Deposit Operations Department. This includes performing data entry, verification, tracking and reviewing of wire transfer requests. Processes daily Automatic Clearing House (ACH) transfers and researches and prepares entry corrections as required for both customer accounts and general ledger accounts. Utilizes knowledge of internal controls surrounding operations processes and communicates with customers, service providers and bank personnel to resolve issues.

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

  1. Performs operational and administrative functions to support the Deposit Operations Department.
  2. Performs data entry, verification, tracking, and review of wire transfer requests., Domestic and Foreign.
  3. Processes daily Automatic Clearing House (ACH) transfers.
  4. Completes processing of daily ACH returns, cash letter returns, load errors, death notifications, Positive Pay, lockbox, as well as backup for daily rejects.
  5. Ensures the Bank's compliance within the functions of ACH and wires by keeping current on regulations (NACHA, Reg E, Swift Network).
  6. Assists in daily reconcilement Federal Reserve and PNC accounts including ACH, Wire, Cash Letters, Check Returns activities.
  7. Maintains awareness, understanding, and compliance with the Bank's internal policies and procedures, laws, and regulations appropriate for this position.
  8. Assists in daily reconcilement of general ledger and DDA in process accounts, including the completion of cash letter and ATM adjustments.
  9. Researches and prepares entry corrections as required for both customer accounts and general ledger accounts. Prepares appropriate correspondence with account holders.
  10. Provides support to client services and loan departments in resolving posting/misposting issues.
  11. Processes customer disputes, foreign check items and savings bonds.
  12. Provides assistance in response to regulatory and internal/external audit requests.
  13. Scans remote deposit items as needed.
  14. Assists in correspondent bank relationships and monitor and maintain daily cash levels through completing reconciliations.
  15. Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.
16 Supports Retail and Treasury Teams with Customer issues and research.

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)
  1. 1+ years of relevant banking experience.
  2. Experience with bank processing rules, regulations (e.g., NACHA, Reg E) and programs (e.g., FedLine).
  3. Experience maintaining a high degree of customer service focus and professionalism.
  4. Experience being accurate with a focus on attention to details.
  5. Experience being adaptable and resourceful in various situations.
  6. Experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel or transferable software packages.
  7. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to interact with all levels of management, employee population, and customers.
  8. Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing previous work assignments to ensure deadlines are met.
  9. Experience working independently as well as within a team environment.

  1. High school diploma, GED, or commensurate experience.

  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to travel as required.
