Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate oil and gas facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Monitor and control hydrocarbon processing activities, perform safety system checks, and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Conduct product material sampling, tank vessel drainage, and other essential operational tasks.
- Inspect, test, and maintain equipment, including emergency shutdown valves, fired equipment, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
- Work with hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with safety protocols (e.g., gas freeing or purging).
- Perform emergency response planning, well testing, and oil and gas sampling as required.
- Maintain awareness of zone classifications, confined space procedures, and other safety hazards in the field.
- Lead in ensuring emissions and waste handling protocols are followed in accordance with environmental guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of deep water experience.
- Proven control room operator experience.
- Hands-on topside operator experience with operational safety procedures.
- Strong subsea operational knowledge and experience.
- Ability to pass the A-Operator assessment test with a score of 80% or higher.
- Ability to read and interpret safe charts, flow diagrams, and process equipment diagrams.
- Knowledge of emergency shutdown procedures, safety system checks, and incident investigation techniques.
- Strong commitment to safety, including awareness of confined space, fall protection, and electrical safety protocols.
- Proficient in using personal protective equipment (PPE), performing lockout/tagout procedures, and conducting job safety analyses (JSA).
Skills & Certifications:
- Offshore and/or onshore safety awareness training (Safegulf/Safeland or equivalent).
- Familiarity with hazard communication, fire prevention, and first responder awareness.
- Experience with incident reporting, investigation, and accident prevention strategies.
- Certified in Hazwoper, Hearing Conservation, and other relevant safety programs.
