Job Summary and Qualifications
Special Procedure Technologist
Cardiovascular Technologists/Special Procedure Technicians demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients served. Cardiovascular Technologists/ Special Procedure Technicians are able to scrub/assist the physician during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies. He or she is also able to record and monitor these cases and understands the hemodynamic measurements and readings from the valve areas.
What you will do in this role:
- You will demonstrate the ability to perform contrast media administration according to age/weight specific guidelines.
- You will demonstrate the ability to set up sterile trays and maintain sterile field, according to hospital protocol.
- You will scrub and assist interventional physician during interventional procedures.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of drugs, their actions, side effects and contraindications for administration.
- You will accurately follow physician orders, document completion of exam in Meditech, scan documents and verify images in PACS.
What qualifications you will need:
To join our dedicated Cath Lab team here in Nashville, you'll need to bring a strong foundation of skills and credentials. We're looking for individuals who meet at least one of the following:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS): You hold a current license or registry certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or you're committed to achieving this advanced registration within one year of your hire date.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R) : You possess a current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and are licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Beyond these essential credentials, you'll also need:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: A current certification is a must.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training: You'll need to complete this within 6 months of joining our team.
- Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: The ability to connect and communicate effectively with our patients, their families, our esteemed physicians, and your fellow colleagues is key to our collaborative environment.
- Cath Lab Experience: While not mandatory, we strongly prefer candidates who bring a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Your expertise will be highly valued.
- Weekday Night On-Call Availability: This role is a call only position, with commitment to be on call during weekday nights, starting Sunday evening at 5:00 PM and concluding Friday morning at 6:00 AM. The great news? You'll enjoy your weekends completely free from on-call duties, from Friday at 6:00 AM to Sunday at 5:00 PM, giving you the freedom to enjoy your weekends. Plus, there's no on-call requirement during the daytime hours (6:00 AM to 5:00 PM), providing excellent flexibility to balance your work and life. There is a 40 hour/week guaranteed salary even if your productive work hours fall short of that number.
