THE POSITION
The Dean of Academics will assist the school in strengthening instructional programs through a strategically planned, standards-based approach with a focus on narrowing achievement gaps. This position will provide leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and planning. The Dean is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, strategic thinking, and providing feedback to teachers.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a lead administrator at one of two sites
Supervise and coach teachers on a regular basis and provide detailed feedback both written and oral, formal and informal.
Provide regular supervision and coaching to teachers, offering detailed feedback in both written and verbal formats, through formal and informal methods.
Conduct mid-year and end-of-year evaluations to assess performance and support professional growth.
Observe Grade teachers and EL Interventionist on a regular basis and provide detailed feedback both written and oral, formal and informal
Hold regular check-ins with Teachers and Grade Level Teams
Responsible for Grade Level Lead Job Expectations for their grade level(s): Checking lesson plans, facilitating Data Dives, Unit Planning, and attending school-wide Leadership Team Meetings
Oversee RTI for assigned grade levels
Coordinate administration and lead data dives for MAP assessment
Lead literacy data dives
Oversee administration and implementation of Lexia program.
Lead SST meetings for assigned grade levels
Onboard daily substitutes for staff absences
Supports staff in intensive data analysis and results planning
Assists in program implementation and curriculum development
Assists in determining effective methods for the integration of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and the developmental use of authentic assessment
Models a variety of instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and align with assessments.
Assists in identifying, developing, and delivering professional development
Coaches and models research-based instructional strategies in alignment with Soleil standards
Co-lead/Lead monthly Grade Level Lead Meetings
Lead and plan for Community Meeting
Weekly/Bi-weekly check-ins with the leadership team to design and implement initiatives critical to student achievement
Participate in attendance meetings with parents when needed.
Attend and participate in all school-related family events
Address escalated parent concerns regarding scholar behavior and academics.
Contribute to the School Community
Seek opportunities, both individually and through school-based initiatives, to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families and scholars.
Actively engage in School and externally provided professional development.
Prepare for and attend up to five (5) evening or weekend, scholar, parent or other school events that do not exceed more than three (3) hours per event, including Report Card Nights, Open House, Scholar Exhibitions, etc.
Serve actively on at least one (1) School- established action committee during the school year.
Attend all faculty and professional development meetings.
Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with parents.

Maintain accurate, current records for attendance, coursework, and submit timely completed report cards and school-wide assessment records.
Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Soleil Employee Handbook.
Ensure timely and high-quality submission of department led projects
Exhibit a continuous improvement mindset while striving to exemplify Soleil's commitment to the school community.
Adaptability and comfort working in a complex, fast-paced environment that demands continuous learning and improvement
Other duties as assigned by school administrators
THE QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Strong commitment to Soleil Academy's mission and vision
Results-driven educational leader with a commitment to standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessment to drive instructional decisions
Minimum of three years working in urban education with a history of significant gains in scholar performance and/or growth
Valid Clear California multiple-subject credential
English Learner Authorization
Exemplary instructional and classroom management skills
High level of personal organization and planning
Proven ability to proactively lead by example, effectively manage adults, and respond positively to feedback
Experience analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Openness to feedback and desire to continue development as a professional
Willingness to take responsibility for scholar outcomes and achievement
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
TB Clearance
Highly preferred:
Spanish speakers
COVID-19 vaccination (Up to date)
Expertise in line with applicable federal and state requirements
Experience leading a school team for a minimum of 2 years

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation : Soleil provides competitive salaries, which are reviewed every three years. Based on relevant prior work experience, our salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,905 . Please click HERE for more information on our salary schedule.
