Reporting to the Director of Data Intelligence, the Database Marketing Associate plays a critical part in our B2B lead generation efforts by using data resources to identify and segment prospects for targeted marketing campaigns.

The Database Marketing Associate will use a variety of database tools and systems, including Microsoft Access and Salesforce, to generate marketing campaign lists, create reports, and maintain data integrity. This role supports FT Specialist's sales, marketing, advertising, and editorial teams by providing actionable data insights and ensuring high-quality audience segmentation for campaigns targeting professionals in the financial services, insurance, and corporate governance sectors.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop expertise in our data ecosystem, including the relational database structure of Salesforce CRM and other systems, to effectively integrate and connect data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development teams to define audience segmentation criteria and targeting strategies for our products.
  • Design and implement SQL query procedures in Microsoft Access to extract and segment target audience data for marketing campaigns.
  • Use data tools, including XL Connector, to integrate new data, update existing records, and streamline audience segmentation and campaign execution workflows in Salesforce CRM.
  • Perform data scrubbing and validation processes to uphold Salesforce CRM data integrity standards.
  • Assist with ad hoc data and analytics projects focused on enhancing marketing performance, CRM data integrity, and audience engagement.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in a field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Philosophy would be advantageous.
  • Fundamental understanding of relational databases and data structures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to design and follow structured processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to convey data-driven insights clearly and explain technical capabilities and constraints to a non-tech audience.
  • Interest in learning about our target industries to enhance marketing effectiveness.
  • 2 years of proven experience, but we are also open to ambitious entry-level candidates.
  • Proficiency in SQL-based tools like MS Access for sophisticated queries/macros would be a strong bonus.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud is a bonus, but not crucial.
  • Familiarity with or an understanding of email marketing and audience segmentation techniques would be an advantage.
