We are seeking a Database Management Analyst to support Professional Support Services (PSS) for SEA 21, Naval Sea System Command's (NAVSEA) Director of Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization, and Sustainment in Washington, D.C.

So, what will the Database Management Analyst at Terrestris do?

SEA 21 is the dedicated life cycle management organization for the Navy's in-service surface ships. As the Database Management Analyst, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of data used for decision-making across SEA 21's surface fleet programs. You will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and analyzing databases and data systems that support ship maintenance and modernization planning, execution, and sustainment operations.

What does a typical day look like for the Database Management Analyst?

You will:
  • Develop, maintain, and manage relational and non-relational databases that support SEA 21 program activities.
  • Design and implement data models, tables, queries, and stored procedures tailored to surface ship lifecycle management.
  • Monitor and improve performance of databases, ensuring optimal operation and security compliance.
  • Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems such as Navy ERP, Fleet Modernization Program Management Information System (FMPMIS), and Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM).
  • Support data reconciliation efforts to ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Conduct data mining and analytics to support program assessments, trend analysis, and decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for SEA 21 leadership and program managers.
  • Provide data-driven insights that support planning, budgeting, execution, and sustainment initiatives.
  • Work closely with government personnel, engineers, planners, and IT staff to identify data needs and requirements.
  • Support briefings, documentation, and technical input related to data systems and tools.
  • Participate in working groups, data governance meetings, and technical reviews.
What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:
  • An Active Secret Clearance.
  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong experience with SQL, Microsoft Access, or other enterprise-level database management systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD or Navy logistics, maintenance, or modernization data systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
We are extra impressed by folks with:
  • A Master's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience supporting NAVSEA, particularly SEA 21 or related ship maintenance programs.
  • Understanding of Navy logistics systems, lifecycle management processes, and ship sustainment data.
  • Certifications in database management, data analytics, or cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Oracle).
