TITLE: Database Engineer with ACTIVE Top-Secret Clearance LOCATION: Richardson, TX DURATION:12+ months, possible contract to hire RATE RANGE: $90.00-$101.00/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract) No C2C, we can NOT work with outside agencies/vendors, and we can NOT do 1099- REQUIRED ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Principal Database Engineer to support our teams in Richardson, Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this position you would be familiar with creating, updating, and managing Postgres databases and the code that interacts with them. REQUIREMENTS A Current DOD - Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of Database Engineering experience.
Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems
Database design experience (tables, schema, views, etc.) for efficiency.
Data architecture experience for data design decisions (such as best DB for a use case)
Experience with AWS services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current Security+ Certification
Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues.
Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
Experience with NoSQL database products such as MongoDB.
Experience with automating routine tasks.
Setup and administering a Postgres or MongoDB database.
Preferably experience with Postgres in AWS RDS
Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases
Preferably Spatial database experience RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions.
Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.
The ability to obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.
Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start.
