Database Engineer

Title: Database Engineer
Location: Northeastern U.S. Region (Hybrid - 5 days onsite per month)

Description:
We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to support critical data systems integrated with advanced research and application platforms. This role involves maintaining high-availability environments, driving database optimization, and contributing to the evolution of scalable database services. You'll work across engineering teams to integrate modern data technologies into a fast-paced technical ecosystem, supporting both real-time operations and strategic infrastructure initiatives.

Required Skills:
7+ years of experience in the database engineering or administration field (ideally between 7-15 years).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
Strong hands-on experience managing relational database platforms, with deep proficiency in at least one.
Proficiency in performance tuning, design, and maintenance for high-availability, always-on applications.
Experience supporting data systems within public cloud environments.
Scripting and automation skills using general-purpose programming languages.
Solid understanding of system administration across multiple operating systems, including networking and performance diagnostics.

Desired Skills:
Experience implementing automation and monitoring for cloud database environments.
Exposure to data replication, backup/recovery procedures, and provisioning workflows.
Familiarity with best practices for integrating modern database solutions into enterprise ecosystems.
Ability to consult with development teams on data architecture and optimization strategies.

Compensation:
Pay range: $165,000-$325,000 per year
