Zurich Cover More is seeking a Database Developer to join our Group in North America.

The Database Developer in Travel Guard's 24/7/365 Travel Security Operations Center and provides support for daily operations as necessary. Travel Guard's security analysts must have a well-rounded background in international relations and security with strong writing and analytical skills. Analysts must have excellent research and global monitoring capabilities, an intuitive understanding of international security ramifications as well as strong communication abilities to adequately convey such information. Clear writing and oral communication skills are a necessity, as is an in-depth understanding of geopolitical developments. Additional specializations in the security industry, global travel experience and ability to read/speak other languages are preferred.

Responsibilities Include:

Focus on learning Travel Guard Databases, their structure, contents and the environments they reside in whilst improving key skills

Work closely with Principal and Senior team members for mentorship and to work through issues

Work on data-mods, minor enhancements, bug fixes and maintenance releases

Learn, understand and contribute to your role as a member of an Agile team

Learn and follow Travel Guard's defined SDLC process

Deliver quality, understandable code by learning and implementing defined coding best practices

Document and explain changes, as needed, to support hand-off to other team members

Mentor Junior team members, preparing them for added responsibilities and duties

Be trusted to follow specifications and work on new application features

Provide Tier II support for assigned applications

Recommend enhancements, optimizations and improvements of assigned applications to Principal and Senior team members

Basic Qualifications:

Two year degree in CIS/Computer Science or minimum of 2 years of IT Development experience in lieu of degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Software and Industry Knowledge

Several years of working experience working as a database developer

Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server

Advanced experience writing T-SQL

Familiarity working with SSIS and SSRS

Experience working as part of an Agile team

Experience working with TFS, Git or other similar source code repositories

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Effective communication skills and being able to convey information and resolving user issues through clear, concise, and empathetic interactions
