100% Remote (WILL have to be in office 1-2x a year for meetings)

Position Title: Database Analyst/Programmer 3

Typical Day: 8am-5pm with some flex - Some start at 7am and leave at 3-4pm

12-Month Contract with likely chance for FTE

Availability to start by July 5th

• On Call: 2 week rotation, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, could look like 2-3 calls per week, some weeks could receive 0 calls. With more developers it could be 2 weeks on, 4 weeks off
• Batch process from 5:30-7:30am CST - typical calls will come within that time.

Job Description

The main function of a database analyst/programmer is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. A typical database analyst/programmer is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.

Job Responsibilities:

Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.

Typical task breakdown:

• Research existing mainframe programs and documenting/flow charting findings
• Enhancing existing programs
• Writing custom one-time-only use programs to perform data modifications
• Documenting change evidence for FSA/SOX compliance

Interaction with team:

- Office environment - collaborating with team members

Skills (required)

• -2+ years experience with Cat mainframe environment, preferably GIS Cluster C / A -COBOL development
• 3+ years -SQL / DB2 programming mainframe
• 3+ years -IMS or CICS development
• 2+ years (IMS preferred)
• 2+ years with debugging tools like Xpeditor, Abend-Aid -
• 2+ experience working with end-customers on IT requirements / testing

Education & Experience Required:

- Programming certificate degree - at least undergrad / community college 2 yr., preferably/desired 4 year Comp Sci degree. 5-7 years experience required.
