What you can expect as a Database Administrator II:
  • Provide overall database administration & system tasks, support & maintenance
  • Undertake monitoring/ tuning / optimizing, installation, updates, upgrade, and backups/restore/recovery processes, etc.
  • Carry out periodic database maintenance & systems support
  • SQL Server database design, system analysis & architecture design
  • Action incident and problem management activities, escalating issues to external technical support parties when required.
  • Supply database statistics & related data on a timely basis
  • Support team members with data analytical and other application support activities
  • Manage operational tasks such as providing technical support for ETL processes, SQL Agent Jobs, and support Application release
  • Problem-solve issues (connections errors, databases & their operating systems) as and when they arise
  • Produce & maintain technical & user documentation
  • Issue and change tracking through agreed business systems
  • Working with other DBA and Infrastructure team members, design and facilitate database backup and recovery as well as document and test all backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Provide development and production support to troubleshoot day-to-day database or related application issues
  • Maintain and administer database security access
  • Manage DBA related projects within the organization
  • Provide input into Frontlines IT Risk Management function, working closely with DBA Manager/Risk Analyst
  • Participate in Frontline's Data Governance strategic development.
  • On-call requirements to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations
What we are looking for as a Data Administrator II:
  • 5+ years' experience as a database administrator in SQL Server and other RDBMS environments performing the Essential Duties required for this position
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or equivalent combination of education
  • Experience with Monitoring & Diagnostic tools
  • Experience working with Windows server and Linux environments, including disk configuration
  • Proficiency in SQL Server database design, system analysis & architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SSAS/SSIS/SSRS technologies
  • Able to create, understand and update PowerShell and Windows Batch scripts
  • Competency with SSMS and T-SQL knowledge to create data queries and data extracts
  • Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platform - AWS EC2 / S3 Bucket Administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Failover Clustering and SQL Server Always-On High Availability
  • Familiar with Ola Hallengren SQL Server Maintenance Solutions
  • Database Server Virtual Machine computing in AWS/VMware
