atabase Administrator to join our growing team. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining relational database systems, ensuring high performance and reliability, and collaborating with technical teams to optimize database operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform database administration tasks, including database loading, maintenance, and system performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, database tables, and other critical database components.
- Work with relational database management systems (RDBMS) and third- and fourth-generation computer languages.
- Optimize and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Implement best practices for database management and system operations.
- Ensure compatibility with SUN/Solaris operating environments and maintain high standards for database integrity and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address database-related needs and requirement.
Basic Qualifications: Experience: - At least 2 years of technical experience in database development and administration.
- Strong competence in all phases of database systems, concepts, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of resident computer systems, software, middleware, and hardware, including input/output devices.
- High-level skill in database management with familiarity in SUN/Solaris operating environments.
Education: An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline and 2 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 5 years of technical experience in database development and administration is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications: - Expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with system performance optimization techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
