We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee and manage the organizations databases. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, performance, and availability of databases. This role will involve database design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance, as well as supporting data-related initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain databases to ensure they are accessible, secure, and properly functioning.
2. Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance, identify issues, and optimize the performance of both large and small databases.
3. Backup and Recovery: Ensure proper backup processes are in place and perform regular backups. Implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and prevent data loss.
4. Security: Manage database security, including access controls, encryption, and data masking. Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
5. Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues quickly to minimize downtime and data loss. Provide technical support to other teams as needed.
6. Data Integrity: Ensure the integrity and consistency of data across all systems and resolve any discrepancies.
7. Database Upgrades and Patches: Manage database upgrades, updates, and patches, ensuring minimal impact on operations and maintaining data consistency.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of databases with applications and systems.
9. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation on database configurations, processes, backup procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
10. Reporting and Auditing: Generate database reports for management, audit database usage and performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
11. Capacity Planning: Plan for future database growth and ensure resources (storage, memory, etc.) are allocated appropriately to handle future needs.
