Position Summary: We are seeking experienced DB2 Database Administrator with 8+ years of expertise in managing, tuning, and securing databases across AIX, Unix, and Linux platforms. Proficient in shell scripting for automation and process improvement, with strong exposure to DB2 on z/OS mainframe systems. Proven track record of ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability in mission-critical environments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform any or all of the following) - Administer, monitor, and maintain DB2 databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Perform routine database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
- Optimize database performance through tuning queries, indexes, and system parameters.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate administrative tasks and streamline operations.
- Install, configure, and support DB2 on AIX, Unix, and Linux platforms.
- Manage user access controls and implement database security best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide support for DB2 on z/OS environments, including maintenance, upgrades, and performance analysis
Required Qualifications: - 8 years of experience required DB2 Database Experience
- 3 years of experience required AIX/Unix/Linux Platform Experience
- 3 years of experience required Shell Programming/Scripting Experience
- 5 years of experience Preferred DB2 Z/OS
