Database Administrator 1Salary Range: $29.00 - $47.00/ Hr.

The Database Administrator 1 analyzes business needs and designs, installs, and supports database solutions on multiple platforms for the Haas enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs analysis of database needs and designs database architecture, integration, and installation.
  • Utilizes expertise in monitoring and maintaining enterprise-wide database solutions.
  • Monitors and maintains database performance and stability.
  • Communicates, coordinates and/or performs maintenance schedules for backups, patching and/or downtime to users.
  • Coordinates third-party maintenance for hardware, software, and related services.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of hardware and software configurations.
  • Coordinates with other members of the IT Infrastructure team on a regular basis.
  • Uses skills to accurately estimate workload.
  • Suggests ways to automate routine functions, improve efficiencies and/or cost-savings.

• Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL database technologies (1+ years required).
  • Working experience in operation and infrastructure support for database technologies and associated management tools.
  • Hands-on experience in performance tuning, database backup and recovery, high availability and troubleshooting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including public speaking skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office, any desktop communications software, Operating System software and web browsers.
  • High sense of teamwork.
  • 0-5% Travel Required.
Desired Qualifications
  • 1+ years experience with clustering and replications on both MSSQL/MySQL environments

Education

Associate's degree AA/AS/AAS from a two-year college or technical school is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
