Description Design, build, and maintain a large complex virtualized infrastructure. As a Senior VDI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our VDI environment, supporting our organization's operational needs and strategic initiatives. Requirements Design and Architecture: Design and architect complex VDI solutions, considering scalability, performance, and integration with other IT systems. Implementation and Deployment: Oversee the implementation and deployment of VDI projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize VDI infrastructure components, including hypervisors, connection brokers, virtual desktop pools, and storage systems. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect VDI environments against cyber threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor VDI performance metrics and proactively optimize system performance and resource utilization. User Support and Troubleshooting: Provide escalated technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve complex VDI issues and ensure a seamless end-user experience. Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and user guides. Conduct training sessions for IT staff and end-users as needed. Project Leadership: Lead VDI-related projects from conception through completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing project timelines and deliverables. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring effective procurement and support of VDI-related technologies and services. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing VDI solutions in enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in virtualization technologies, including VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft RDS.
Proven experience with hypervisors (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and virtual machine management.
Solid understanding of networking concepts, storage systems, and security best practices related to VDI environments.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex VDI issues effectively.
Experience in capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimizing VDI environments for scalability and reliability.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), or equivalent certifications preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
