Member of Technical Staff, Data Scientist / Statistician
Palo Alto, CA
We're hiring a Member of Technical Staff, Data Scientist / Statistician to build the measurement backbone of a new enterprise AI product. If you're experienced in experimentation, applied statistics, and ML evaluation-and want your work to directly influence model and product quality-this role offers a unique opportunity.
We're a product-driven team focused on building practical, trustworthy AI for enterprise use. Our work starts with powerful large language models, but it doesn't end there-we care just as much about reliability, interpretability, and impact. The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with a strong appreciation for rigor, detail, and good tooling. As we grow, we're investing deeply in research-informed practices to guide how we measure and improve everything we build.
As a Member of Technical Staff, Data Scientist / Statistician, you'll lead efforts around metrics design, evaluation frameworks, and experimental pipelines. You'll shape how we define success, how we measure safety and alignment, and how we learn from real-world usage. The work is both strategic and hands-on-you'll write code, build tools, and communicate insights clearly across teams.
What we can offer you:
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity
- Flexible paid time off and parental leave
- Access to powerful compute resources and frontier models
- Small team with ownership and visibility
- Support for visa needs for international candidates
Key responsibilities:
- Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests, sequential tests, multivariate studies)
- Define success metrics for model behavior, safety, and user value
- Build internal tools and dashboards for monitoring model and product performance
- Collaborate with ML researchers on evaluating fine-tuning and alignment strategies
- Apply statistical rigor to model evaluation and feature launches
- Contribute to building measurement infrastructure from scratch
