We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Data Scientist/Architect to support a high-impact mission in McLean, VA. This role demands a technically skilled professional with deep expertise in data modeling, structured data manipulation, and mission-driven data analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in data architecture and data science principles, supporting the transformation of raw data into actionable intelligence that drives mission success.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain robust data models that support complex analytic and operational requirements.
  • Engineer scalable data solutions using one or more of the following languages: ECL, SQL, Python/Spark, or Java.
  • Analyze highly structured datasets, managing data across multiple tables, data types, and disparate sources to optimize usability.
  • Perform deep-dive explorations of datasets to evaluate quality, structure, and interconnectivity for mission-focused enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with mission stakeholders to understand data needs, advise on best practices, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop strategies to improve data accessibility, integrity, and scalability within secure environments.
  • Lead efforts in data transformation, harmonization, and governance to ensure high-quality outputs and compliance with mission requirements.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or data science
  • Extensive programming experience in one or more of the following: ECL, SQL, Python/Spark, or Java.
  • Proven experience working with structured data, including table relationships, data types, and data integration from diverse sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform raw data into structured datasets that meet operational and analytical needs.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex datasets for quality, interconnectivity, and alignment with mission objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HPCC Systems and ECL for high-performance computing environments.
  • Prior experience supporting federal or intelligence community missions.
  • Familiarity with distributed data systems and modern data platforms.
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality frameworks, and lifecycle management.
Eligibility:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance is required for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Salary Range: $225,000 - $250,000
