Data Science Project Manager with Security Clearance

Connsci is seeking a Project Manager/Data Science Lead to work in support of one of our federal clients. The team is responsible for importing, visualizing, and analyzing large amounts of raw information, primarily financial data, to find patterns that will help improve decision making across the organization. This team also helps in the building of dashboards. As a project leader this role is responsible for hands on data science contributions, as well as tracking project milestones and communicating with client leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Track project milestones and ensure delivery is well managed and on schedule
• Provide routine updates and status reports to agency leadership
• Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns that allow the organization to make decisions based on the data
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
• Combine models through ensemble modeling
• Present information using data visualization techniques
• Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in technology, math, or statistics discipline or equivalent work experience within those fields.
• At least 5 years of experience with various project management methodologies including waterfall and agile approaches.
• At least 5 years of experience in data analysis or data science.
• At least 3 years of experience using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• At least 3 years of experience with project tracking tools such as Microsoft Project.
• At least 3 years of experience with R, SQL, or Python.
• Must possess a Public Trust or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in technology, math, or statistics discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with machine learning and operations research.
• 3+ years of experience with Scala, Java, or C .
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Planner in Teams.
• PMP certification.

Location:
This role currently allows work from home flexibility however preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Washington, DC area as some office time may be required in the future. About Connsci
