Data Privacy Specialist - Contract- New Jersey Hybrid - $50.00 -$60.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Data Privacy Specialist in New Jersey Hybrid.

Role Description

This role is responsible for executing day to day tasks supporting access management and cyber security controls (according to America's time zone). Responsibilities include reviewing and assessing exceptions and risks for requests across multiple domains: Internet, Client Data, Critical and Sensitive business applications. This role requires experience in analyzing data and the ability to create and maintain metrics. This role requires interaction with individuals, within Business & Technology, at multiple levels of the organization.

• work with Wealth Management Americas staff to research incidents of potential Client Identifying Data exposure to unauthorized persons

• escalate data breaches into Data Breach Handling Tool and work with violators to populate incident details in tool;

• review client data elements exposed and scope of exposure vs. policy to assess incident severity;

• work with Data Protection Legal and the Data Protection Office to determine client and regulatory notification requirements in accordance with state and federal guidelines

• coordinate response with Central Information Security Office, Data Protection Legal and Data Protection Office to ensure data breaches are process within SLA;

• support Data Protection Office for required client breach notifications;

• work with outside legal counsel to evaluate and document client complaints against US Privacy regulations;

• education of field / clients of recommended steps safeguards in response to reports of suspected identity theft, update ID theft logs as appropriate;

• review employee reported phishing attempts, provide guidance to employee on same, update ID theft logs as appropriate;

• respond to field inquiries regarding data privacy and data loss prevention.

Skills & Requirements

• bachelors or Associate degree in a business or technology related field;

• 4+ plus years data analyst for Financial Services organization;

• experience in Information Security and/ or client privacy preferred

• knowledge of Data Loss Prevention systems and methods

• experience with Symantec/ Broadcom or Microsoft DLP a plus

• basic IT Knowledge preferrable;

• high degree of diligence - attention to detail and ability to follow through / follow-up is critical;

• flexible self-starter who is also a team player. Exceptional ability to collaborate and openly communicate;

• strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation);

• proficient in Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, etc) & PowerPoint. Experience using and maintaining SharePoint sites;

• demonstrated experience delivering results in an ambiguous and changing environment, the ability to work independently;

• sound judgment and decision-making skills, ability to juggle multiple competing priorities, and ability to work under deadline pressure;

• knowledge of industry standard methodologies and tools;

• meticulous attention to detail and a passion for driving execution at a detail level when necessary while maintaining the ability to see the big picture;

• must be self-motivated, proactive, and possess ability to maintain attention to details.
