We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Operations Intern to join our team for the summer. The intern will work closely with our Development and Operations department on SIMS (Simple Invoice Management System), which is a browser-based solution designed to streamline the claims administration processes.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working with cutting-edge technology to support our claims operations. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of information technology principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a comfort level with navigating various operations systems and landscapes.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in maintaining and updating operational documentation, such as user guides and system configurations.
  • Document back-end processes as well as user processes.
  • Participate in operational projects, such as client implementations, migrations, and projects related to our SIMS application software.
  • Research emerging technologies and offer recommendations for improvements.
  • Work with development and quality assurance teams.
  • Assist in data analytics and reporting tasks.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure smooth data operations.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with Junior or Senior standing
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and networking concepts.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Familiarity using Microsoft Office 365
  • Basic documentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated on new technologies.
Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools is a plus.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to generate reports against a SQL Database is a plus.
