Title: Data Engineer - Fintech Exp Required

Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Location: Financial District of SF

As they expand data capabilities, we're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team in a greenfield role-a high-impact opportunity to build systems, pipelines, and infrastructure from the ground up.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage at petabyte scale
  • Architect systems to handle unstructured and semi-structured data, including credit file data
  • Work with cloud technologies (AWS) to support data storage, streaming, and compute needs
  • Implement and manage data infrastructure and systems for analytics and credit decisioning
  • Ensure compliance with SOC2 and other relevant data handling standards
  • Collaborate across teams to define the best direction and tools for data management in a greenfield environment
  • Utilize tools like Snowflake or Databricks to develop scalable and efficient data solutions
  • Apply ETL best practices to streamline complex workflows and integrate disparate data sources
  • Use Python and Github to write reusable code and manage version-controlled deployments
  • Partner with product, analytics, and compliance teams to support a wide range of credit-focused initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
  • Proven experience working with AWS, Python, and either Snowflake or Databricks
  • Strong experience with ETL pipeline design and implementation
  • Background in handling large-scale (petabyte-level) datasets
  • Experience working with unstructured data (credit file data experience is a plus)
  • Solid understanding of SOC2 and data compliance standards
  • Experience in a fintech or credit analytics organization is required
  • Hands-on experience with Github for version control and collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to build data systems and pipelines from scratch in greenfield environments
