Senior Data Engineer to join our fast-paced, mission-driven team. In this role, you will architect and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions within our Azure ecosystem. Leveraging technologies such as
Snowflake, dbt, ADF, Microsoft Fabric, and
Power BI, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our
Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives and delivering actionable insights across the organization. A strong background in healthcare data and compliance standards such as
HIPAA is essential.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and dbt.
- Architect and manage the Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Optimize and manage Azure data infrastructure, including storage, compute, and networking resources.
- Maintain and extend an Azure Function App for complex, custom reporting logic.
- Integrate data from external sources (e.g., Salesforce, SFTP) to enable seamless vendor and partner collaboration.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for code and database deployment.
- Develop and maintain internal and external documentation through SharePoint Web Parts and Azure Static Web Apps.
- Apply expertise in healthcare data (claims, EHR, clinical) and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA) to ensure data compliance and integrity.
- Develop data-driven solutions to support VBC initiatives, such as patient risk stratification and cost analysis.
- Work cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to meet evolving data needs.
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data security, quality, and compliance.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance issues and data quality challenges across systems.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with Snowflake or similar SQL/NoSQL cloud-based engines.
- 2+ years of experience with dbt or equivalent SQL source control tools.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or similar ETL/ELT tools.
- 2+ years of experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
- Strong command of SQL and JavaScript.
- Extensive experience working with Azure cloud services.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare data and industry regulations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be located in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications - SnowPro and/or Power BI certifications.
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing best practices.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR.
- Familiarity with broader Azure ecosystem services.
