Job Summary We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team at Optimum Media, an Altice USA company.
The a4 Data Engineering team is seeking an Engineer who will design and develop frameworks, tools, and processes for reliably ingesting and processing vast amounts of data within our various systems. Data engineers will design and lead the implementation of data solutions per business requirements across the Analytics, Product and Operations teams'. Engineers in this role will also conduct research, investigations and assist in the development and improvement of our data landscape and help improve the overall quality of data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on SQL coding experience and the ability to write advanced queries for data structuring and job processing
- Demonstrated experience working with large relational databases and an advanced understanding of data warehouse operations (Google BigQuery, Redshift, or other MPP database)
- Python-based script programming for process automation
- Hands-on experience working with Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer), Rest APIs
- Proficiency with Linux environments and bash scripting
- ELT and ETL jobs scheduling using cron
- Understanding streaming and batch processing paradigm
- Good knowledge of cloud providers like Google Cloud, AWS or Azure
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools and code repositories such as GIT (Bitbucket)
- Ability to communicate with analytics engineers and data science teams to provide data processing and scripting solutions for projects on short timescales
- Discipline in documenting processes and architecture/infrastructure development
- Problem-solving mindset
Qualifications
- Bachelor's /Master's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Science/Mathematics or related field or equivalent job experience
- 2+ years of experience with SQL, relational databases, and data warehouses
- 2+ years of experience of engineering knowledge in data processing.
- 2+ years of experience with Python scripting
- Must have experience in cloud base technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with Bash or similar scripting in Linux environments
- Experience creating documentation and architecture diagrams.
- Demonstrated experience using both schema driven and schema-free cloud-based storage solutions and platform implementation in a technical and analytical role
- Experience with benchmarking/tuning for performance across different platforms
- Familiarity with tools designed for efficiently transferring bulk data and parallel processing of data stored across data environments
- Experience building API connections and transferring large data sets between internal systems and vendor systems a plus
- Basic statistical analysis or statistical modeling experience with R or Python a plus
- Ideal candidates have experience working in Media, Television or Digital Marketing
Will be a plus to have:
- Experience working with Snowflake-data driven warehouses
- Experience creating, debugging and performance optimizing with PySpark jobs (Glue jobs, Serverless PySpark on GCP)
- Experience with distributed data technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Apache Beam)
- Experience creating, debugging and performance optimizing with DataFlow jobs (Apache Beam)
- Any data science experience

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $83,538.00-$137,241.00/year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
