You'll work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure our data platform meets the evolving needs of the organization. You'll be an evangelist for best practices in data governance, security, and quality.

Essential Job Functions: - Lead Data Architecture & Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and architecture, optimizing them for performance, data integrity, and ease of use.
- Spearhead Data Warehousing: Architect, develop, and maintain our Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring it provides a foundation for robust data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence.
- Design Database Schemas: Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to design and implement efficient database schemas that support new product functionalities and enhance existing ones.
- Optimize ETL Processes: Develop, optimize, and automate ETL workflows to ensure efficient and reliable data flow between systems, minimizing manual intervention and maximizing data quality.
- Implement Data Security Measures: Implement robust data encryption, masking, and access control mechanisms to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Enable Business Intelligence: Partner with stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics needs and develop BI solutions that deliver clear, actionable insights.
- Establish Data Governance: Define and enforce data retention, archival, and quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and adherence to security and compliance requirements.
Education/ Experience Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on data engineering.
- 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring other engineers, preferably in a data-focused role.
- Cloud Expertise: Deep proficiency in Snowflake, with extensive hands-on experience in building, optimizing, and maintaining data warehouses.
- Database Mastery: Expertise in SQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- ETL Expertise: Proven experience in developing and maintaining scalable ETL systems using industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Schema Design & Data Modeling: Strong knowledge of database schema design principles for both relational and NoSQL databases, with a focus on performance, scalability, and data integrity.
- Data Security Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in implementing data encryption, masking, and access control techniques to protect sensitive information.
- Data Retention & Archival Strategies: Proven ability to establish and implement effective data retention and archival policies and procedures.
Preferred Experience: - Experience with BI reporting tools and frameworks (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and optimize database schemas for new product features and enhancements.
- Experience with data governance tools and frameworks.
- Experience with data lineage and data cataloging.
- Familiarity with data science concepts and techniques.
