Position Overview
We are actively hiring Mid-Level and Senior SQL Data Engineers to support the expansion of a leading financial institution's technology team. This division plays a pivotal role in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines that power mission-critical finance applications.
You'll be joining a team that thrives on ownership, technical rigor, and the ability to communicate effectively across data and business stakeholders. This is a chance to leave your mark on systems that directly impact decision-making at enterprise scale.
Core Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and manage robust SQL-based ETL pipelines
  • Leverage AutoSys (or similar) for job scheduling and orchestration
  • Collaborate with upstream data providers and troubleshoot delivery or schema issues
  • Translate complex data requirements into scalable engineering solutions
  • Proactively identify and resolve pipeline performance bottlenecks
  • Ensure high availability and accuracy of data across systems
  • Maintain clear documentation of data flows and operational practices
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and report on dependencies and progress
Required Skills
  • 5+ years (Mid-Level) or 7+ years (Senior-Level) in Data Engineering roles
  • Strong command over SQL and hands-on experience with ETL development
  • Experience using AutoSys or comparable job control systems
  • Proven background in supporting finance, banking, or enterprise tech environments
  • Clear, concise communication, especially for client-facing or lead-level engagements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python or Apache Spark
  • Exposure to CI/CD, version control, and performance tuning of data workflows
  • Familiarity with data quality, governance, and compliance expectations
Not a Fit If You Are:
  • Primarily a Big Data specialist (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Kafka-heavy roles)
  • Lacking recent hands-on experience with SQL and traditional ETL systems
  • Unable to confidently communicate with technical and business stakeholders
Location & Schedule
  • Hybrid Onsite: 3-4 days/week in Charlotte, NC or Dallas, TX
