Job Description:

  • AWS tech, someone who can build the data bases- optimize the data basis.

Story Behind the Need - Business Group & Key Projects:

  • Focus: Building products for Client'sLogistics employees to assist with learning and development.
  • Projects involve databases, data pipelines to power dashboards, science models, and also AI products.
  • But where the team needs the Data Engineer is to help support all of this and content creation/ management side of things.

Can you give me a little detail about your team culture?

Reason of request?

  • We need data engineer support for starting up ML operations and building data lake for AI roadmap

Typical Day in the Role:


Responsibilities

  • Managing AWS accounts, roles, and permissions
  • Fleet management
  • Setting up access-based controls
  • Building structured and unstructured databases
  • Data cleaning and structuring
  • Modeling data injection and transformation layers
  • Supporting dashboards and science models

Interaction with team/Day to Day:

  • Primary interaction with Science and Analytics teams

Training/ Ramp- up

  • Ramp-up period: approximately 3 days

Candidate Requirements


Yrs Exp:

  • If candidate has a Master's degree in computer science/engineering + 5 years' experience, or Bachelor's degree + 7-8 years' experience

Industry Preference:

  • Technical

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Master's degree + 5 years' experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree + 7-8 years' experience
  • Technical background: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Must-have skills: SQL, Python, database design, performance optimization/tuning
  • Key technologies: Redshift, MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases, DynamoDB, AWS
  • A lot of Data Engineers will mainly do Quicksite reporting as their job function. However, for this role it will only be 10%- 20% of the job duties. More of the work will be done in Redshift, NoSQL databases, DynamoDB, and AWS

Preferred:

  • Strong OBIEE reporting experience
  • SQL skills

Disqualifiers

  • If a profile heavily on reporting dashboards not a good Data engineer for this team.

Top 3 must-have hard skills:

  • SQL/ Python
  • performance optimization/tuning and Data base design
  • Redshift, MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases, DynamoDB, AWS
