Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong Datastage experience to support a project under the "Advance the Bank" initiative focused on modernizing financial crimes applications.
The role involves building and optimizing ETL pipelines, maintaining legacy processes, and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure smooth data ingestion and loading into Snowflake.
The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running with Datastage and possess excellent SQL and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines using Datastage to ingest and process data from various upstream applications.
- Support modernization efforts by re-engineering and maintaining existing ETL workflows.
- Ensure continuity of legacy systems while contributing to the modernization of financial crimes data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data sources and requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Communicate progress and technical details effectively to stakeholders.
- Gain familiarity with Snowflake platform structures to understand where data lands.
- Support reporting and analytics through strong SQL skills.
- Leverage DBT for transformation and modeling tasks as adoption increases.
Required Qualifications: - Proven experience with Datastage and ability to independently develop and manage ETL workflows.
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with ETL development and pipeline optimization.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with Snowflake data warehouse environments.
- Exposure to DBT for data modeling and transformation in Snowflake.
