Position Title: Data Engineer General
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Dearborn, MI, 48120
Position Description: GDIA DataTech is looking for a Sr. Data Engineer focused on deep diving into using state-of-the-art development tools to pair program, develop, and test code integrated into a Lean/Agile environment for the company that is a key enabler for high performance in innovation and mobility.
Skills Required:
• Work hands-on with the team and other stakeholders to deliver quality software products that meet our customer's requirements and needs.
• Collaborate directly and continuously with Product Managers and Technical Anchor and work with Data Engineers to release early and often.
• Help GDIA Partners understand our iterative development approach and focus on delivering a Minimum Viable Product through careful and deliberate prioritization.
• Mentor and train other Data Engineers to help them learn agile methods and build skills.
• Help innovate and iterate on agile processes and share our learnings.
• Ensure Software Engineering excellence (e.g., best practices and quality) is achieved within product team.
• Clearly communicate technology strategy and vision to team members and stakeholders.
• Innovate and operate with an iterative, agile, and user-centric perspective.
• Work in a Pair Programming environment by growing technical capabilities/expertise and providing guidance to other members on the team.

Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of work experience in data engineering skill set.
• Familiarity with cloud tooling from vendors like GCP (BigQuery).
Education Required:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of work experience in data engineering skill set.
• Familiarity with Cloud tooling from vendors like GCP (BigQuery).
• Highly effective in working with Product Managers, Product Designers, Software Engineers, and business partners.
• Experience with GCP services (Vertex AI, BigQuery/Cloud Storage).
• Capable in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitHub, etc.
• Relevant experience with databases (Teradata, Hadoop).
• Perform DevOps activities to support customers and processes through our release cycles as well as production.
• Experience in managing services in an enterprise cloud environment (GCP).
• Strong background in cloud computing and distributed systems.
• Exceptional software engineering knowledge; OO Design Principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information:
• Hybrid Position: 13+ days in a quarter onsite.
