To be successful as a Data Designer, you should have experience with:

  • Designing and developing detailed data models, schemas, and database designs.
  • Optimising data structures for performance and scalability in line with business objectives.
  • Conducting data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and propose solutions.
  • Understanding data design specifications and maintaining data dictionaries.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Kafka, AWS, etc.).

Additional relevant skills that are highly valued include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data modelling, database design, and data governance frameworks.

This role will be based at our Northampton or Glasgow office.

Purpose of the role

To support the bank's decision-making processes by providing timely, accurate, and insightful information through designing, developing, and maintaining management reports and dashboards that effectively communicate KPIs and trends across various business units.

Accountabilities
  • Designing and developing comprehensive reports and dashboards using various data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Creating automated report generation processes to improve efficiency and timeliness.
  • Gathering and analyzing business requirements to define report content and format.
  • Maintaining and updating existing reports and dashboards to reflect changing business needs, including coordinating report template releases and administrative tasks.
  • Developing robust processes and controls for data collection and seeking necessary signoffs.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure current data is incorporated into reporting.
