Job Responsibilities
- Familiarity with DCIM (cable mgmt. virtual tools) and ticketing tools. (ServiceNow preferable).
- Ability to maintain correspondence with customers regarding installation/project status.
Fieldwork:
- Ability to install complete copper and fiber (Patching and infrastructure) circuits.
- Ability to use and read Fluke instruments.
- Ability to conduct and maintain inventory levels.
- Ability to work with and install pre-terminated fiber solutions.
- A+ level of computer knowledge a plus. Ability to identify and swap server components.
- Familiarity with racking and stacking equipment (Routers/switches/servers).
- Familiar with terminations of 33, 66, 110 blocks up to 300 pair cable.
Education
- HS Diploma and/or equivalent degree in Trade or 5+ years' experience

- Fundamental Understanding of Fiber Optics
- Familiarity with fiber types (Multimode vs. Single mode)
- Knowledge of common connector types (e.g., MTP, LC)
- Basic Data Center Knowledge
- Awareness of industry best practices
- Understanding of standard Data Center security protocols
- Fiber Optic Rough-In Proficiency
- Comprehension of proper installation techniques
- Knowledge of bend radius and best practices when handling Fiber Optic Cabling
- Experience in cable dressing is preferred.
- Spreadsheet Skills
- Ability to read and interpret cutsheets
- Comfortable navigating Google Sheets
- Willingness to adapt if primarily experienced in Microsoft Excel
- Experience reading port configurations on a multitude of devices
- Travel Availability (Preferred)
- Flexibility to travel as needed is an asset
- PC Literacy (Preferred)
- Basic computer skills are advantageous
- Flexible Scheduling (Preferred)
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
