Program Overview Supports the transformation and modernization of legacy Coast Guard systems and services including mobility, messaging, ITSM, ITAM, Network Infrastructure, and legacy data systems from on premise implementations to cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. New system and service implementations, including zero trust architecture, to provide leading edge systems that are both secure and accessible. About The Role Data Center Systems Administrator Peraton - Citizens Security & Public Services, USCG Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program Serve as a key member of the US Coast Guard IMS program, supporting IT infrastructure modernization and managed services to enhance mission execution and support. Responsibilities include: Collaborate with clients, vendors, management, and IT teams to design, install, configure, and maintain servers, networking appliances, and data center infrastructure.
Monitor and manage systems to ensure compliance with standards and maximize availability.
Analyze infrastructure performance, conduct cost-benefit assessments, and implement quality control measures.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues promptly.
Support warranty and vendor maintenance activities.
Participate in on-call rotation to provide onsite support at the Alexandria, VA Data Center.
Optimize workflows and physical connectivity to improve system efficiency and project outcomes. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or High School Diploma/equivalent with 9 years of experience
U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance
CompTIA Security+ Certification required
Experience in network cabling installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Solid understanding of networking principles (OSI model, TCP/IP)
Proficient in Windows and/or Linux installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox)
Experience with system performance monitoring and reliability assurance
Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, command line, or similar)
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to safely lift and handle objects up to 70 lbs
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range Details Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
