BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Data BI Developer for an opportunity in Minneapolis, MN.
Position Title: Data BI Developer
Location: Minneapolis, MN.
Anticipated Start Date: 5/5/2025.

Expected Duration: 9 Months
Job Type: Contract, Remote
Salary Range: $60/hr - $70/hr.
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Job Description: As a Data BI Developer, you will work with business partners to realize the full capabilities of the data we provide internally and externally. Design and develop ETL, data warehouse, reporting and BI solutions to address business needs. This includes new development, bug fixes, technical uplifts, as well as user and business support. You are responsible for creating high-quality, maintainable solutions, maintaining technical currency, and professional growth.
Job Responsibilities
Design and develop high-quality technical solutions to meet project requirements and architectural and design standards
Develop ETL packages using SSIS
Develop reports in SSRS and PowerBI
Develop Data Warehouse solutions using SQL Server
Develop Tabular Cubes using SSAS
Develop APIs to make data available externally
Task estimation and evaluate project requirements
Execute development testing to ensure new code, or code changes meet their requirements and are bug-free
Collaborate with other developers, BAs, business users, and other employees
Provide documentation, including well commented code and formalized documentation
Report on progress of projects, bugs, and other work items
Maintain a high degree of professionalism
Bring ideas to the IT table
Researches integration issues and works closely with other IT teams to reach resolution in a timely and accurate manner or escalate as appropriate.
Safeguard all customer, employee and company proprietary and personal information ensuring customer and employee data is kept confidential at all times.
Required Education and Experience
3 or more years' experience in -
o Development of ETL packages using SSIS
o Development of reporting solutions using SSRS and PowerBI
o Development of Data Warehouses using Kimball methodology
o Use of a RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server and RDBMS concepts
o Source Control such as Git, TFS, SVN
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of development patterns and best practices
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience in the Microsoft .NET technology stack
o Develop Tabular Cubes using SSAS
o Azure Cloud Integration - Data Factory, Data Lake and/or Functions
o Basic programming concepts - C /VB.NET, Visual Studio and .NET Framework
o API programming to make data available to customers
Experience in an agile environment using continuous integration
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management of Information systems or a similar field
